This year's Learning, It's Personal! Conference, co-convened by PEAR and Boston After School & Beyond in collaboration with the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston, will focus on organizations partnering together to advance and integrate the fields of education, youth development and mental health.

The conference theme recognizes that our future prosperity depends on our collective ability to provide all young people with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to thrive in a knowledge-based local economy and a global society. It also recognizes the need to mobolize academic, enrichment, and mental health supports around the specific needs and interests of youth in order to achieve measurable results in student learning.

The conference convenes leading national researchers and practitioners to discuss the latest thinking and state-of-the-art practices and multi-sector efforts on behalf of young people. Its focus is on the power of collaboration among professionals in schools, after-schools, and other medical and social service settings, and on shared accountability for youth outcomes.
